Who am I and how do I want to change the world?

First off, my name is Samantha Corden, but everyone calls me Sam. I like the color blue, and I love to shop. I'm 5'7" with blonde hair and blue eyes. I was born in Tampa Florida and moved to Connecticut when I was 8 years old. I have a 13 year old autistic brother, and 23 year old soon to be married sister, as well as two wonderful parents. Alex is in 8th grade, getting ready to go onto the high-school that my father, sister and I all attended. Megan is a 1st year grad student at the University of Hartford in Connecticut, and engaged to a war vet named Bob, about the only boyfriend who has ever truly fit into our strange family mold. My dad is a Scientist and if you asked me exactly what he did I would never be able to tell you becuase his explinations always take so long. My mom, who is also my best friend, is a 6th grade social studies teacher who puts way to much effort into grading papers if you ask me, but I guess thats what it takes to be a teacher. Taking one look at my life, written down like this it seems very straight forward, average, and the basics of what you need to know about me, but all of the things that aren't written here are the things that make me who I am.

I have no idea how to "change the world" but if you ask me it's on of those things that has to happen a little at a time. My parents have always taught me to help out other and that it's the small things in life that can make the biggest impact. Although I know that recycling, and giving a homeless person change wont bring about world peace, or end poverty I do think that it makes an impact even if it is one very small. By lending a hand or a shoulder to cry you are giving someone something that they need, that they cant have by themselves, and in a wonderful world, they would return the favor maybe not to you, but to someone else. Its like smiling at a person having a bad day, by passing on something positive it can brighten a mood or change someone's perception.

Although I would like to do more to help the world, change people, and create a better community to live in I know I can only do so much. My goals are to slowly push myself to do more. By being a member of a sorority and having the privilege of travel I hope to create bonds between people, communities and places. I would like to help charities, and people who need it the most, to create new organizations and events to bring smiles to faces and create a better world.
